Should You Use AI to Write Blog Posts?

AI can write a blog post in 5 minutes.

So why isn’t everyone doing this and becoming a successful blogger?

I tried. My first three posts were mostly AI-generated.

When I started I thought the more I wrote the faster I would see any kind of success.

I thought it would save me time, produce better content, and give me an advantage as a new blogger with no writing experience.

The reality is much more complex than that. Here’s what actually happened. And here’s what I’d tell anyone considering using AI to build their blog.

What AI Can Do for Bloggers

AI can indeed improve your blog in various ways. From quality to structure, and time management.

So, before I answer the question you’re asking about using AI to write your blog posts, let me be fair about what AI actually does well.

Outlines and Structure

AI is genuinely good at generating post structures. Sometimes I have ideas but I don’t know how to structure them.

This is when I use AI to turn rough ideas into a clear outline and title.

Give it a topic and it will produce a logical sequence of sections faster than you could brainstorm manually.

Research and Summarizing

When I’m writing a more data-driven blog post rather than a more personal one I use AI to find me articles so I can read them, instead of spending so much time finding articles around the Internet.

If you need to understand a topic before actually talking about it, AI can summarize most topics so you can speed up the process significantly.

SEO Elements

When you’re starting, elements such as meta description, target keyword ideas, and even your titles can be such a hard obstacle.

By using AI to create these ideas, you’re given a good starting point. Even though it needs editing, you’re already skipping the most difficult step – starting.

Editing and Clarity

I like to run software such as Grammarly to improve my grammar and even readability.

I often write quickly so I sometimes skip words or repeat them without noticing, by using these tools, you won’t make these mistakes that can ruin how your audience sees you.

Replace Your Personal Opinion

In 2026 what differentiates a successful blog from an ordinary one is your perspective and opinion.

More than just knowledge, with AI evolution, most blog posts look alike. What’s different is what you have to offer.

Your point of view, your own opinion and experience. That’s what really matters in this age of blogging.

Share Your Real Mistakes and Numbers

No one can replicate your own numbers. And no one can duplicate how you felt and dealt with your mistakes.

By sharing those with your audience, you’re giving them a new perspective and understanding of their problem.

When I’m searching online I usually look for blogs that really feel personal.

I don’t look for generic perspectives, otherwise, I would just ask any AI. What really interests me is what mistakes people made and how they were able to overcome them.

Satisfy Google’s E-E-A-T Guidelines

Experience. Expertise. Authoritativeness. Trustworthiness. Google is increasingly rewarding content that demonstrates real first-hand experience with the topic. AI has no real-world experience. It only knows what it was trained on.

My Personal Experience With AI Content

As I said earlier, I started this blog by using AI. I thought I was saving time. But after some months you’re going to notice that your content ends up looking like thousands of others.

Nowadays I always write my own perspective and opinion. I still use AI to organize and manage my content, whether it’s ideas or even structure.

But for writing, It’s 100% made by me, except for Grammarly to help me fix my words and sentences.

What Google Actually Thinks About AI Content

Google hasn’t officially banned AI content but their helpful content updates have significantly reduced rankings for generic AI-heavy sites.

In my experience, relying on AI to write entire posts usually leads to content that feels generic and similar to thousands of other articles, which will affect your ranking.

But if you’re using AI to save time, performance, and other aspects, then you’re completely fine.

Your opinion and your own voice are what make you you.

And people want to read content from other people, not a machine.

Google rewards E-E-A-T — Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness. Real experience with a topic is something only a human who has lived it can provide.

The Real Problem With AI Blog Posts

AI blog posts sound the same. It’s similar not just in the text, but in its structure, tone, and even conclusion.

It seems like it’s the same person writing every post. They cover the same topic, problems, and advantages, and there isn’t a specific story or personal lesson.

Readers feel informed, but not connected. And when there isn’t a connection, they don’t come back.

Your competitive advantage as a new blogger without any trust or domain authority is your voice.

It’s the way you write, it’s something no other writer can copy.

Don’t you know some person you trust to listen or read simply because of their voice?

Not because of their content, but because you feel connected to them. And most of the time there are other contents with more information, but you still prefer that specific person.

How to Use AI Correctly as a Blogger

The answer isn’t to avoid AI. It’s to use it for the right things.

Use It for Outlines

Before writing any post I think through the structure. AI can accelerate this — give it your topic and target keyword and ask for a post outline. Then take that structure and write every section yourself in your own voice.

Use It for Research

If you don’t fully understand a topic that’s important for your post, use AI to summarize information quickly.

You need to use articles besides AI, so you can understand those topics and make your post around your knowledge, not AI.

Use It for SEO Elements

Elements such as meta descriptions, alt text, and target keywords can be harder as a beginner blogger.

Use AI to overcome these obstacles and save time without compromising authority.

Meta description isn’t your voice, but a search engine summary.

Use It for Editing

After writing your post, run it through AI so it can fix your grammar, clarity, and even improve general language.

Many of my posts originally have errors because of how fast I type, and at the same time I forget words.

By using AI, I’m improving not only quality but also my readers’ perception of me.

Never Use It to Write the Actual Content

The post itself — the sections, the arguments, the examples, the perspective — needs to come from you. That’s the part readers came for. That’s the part Google rewards.

AI can’t replace your experiences and what you want to say, and if you are letting AI do that for you, you’re ruining your blog reputation, and trust.

Your opinion is the reason your readers come to your blog, if they wanted technical information they would go to articles that are deeply informative about the subject.

The Bloggers Who Are Winning in 2026

Person writing authentically representing why genuine human content wins over AI in 2026

Those who are winning aren’t the ones posting 10 AI posts every day.

But the ones posting consistently with real personal opinions, facts, and that provide actual value.

In the end, it doesn’t matter how you write, but how much value you can provide. More than ever readers need to feel personal about your content.

And mostly on blogging, people don’t want to see full AI content, and that’s because they already see it every day on every social media.

Volume without authenticity is a short-term strategy.

My Honest Answer

Should you use AI to write your blog posts?

No. If you’re thinking about using it as a writer, don’t. Even if you’re editing in your own way, the content will be similar to thousands of others.

It will rank for nothing meaningful, build no real audience, and convert nobody.

But if you’re thinking of using it as a tool to help you improve the general quality of your blog, then yes.

Outlines, research, SEO elements, editing — AI makes all of these faster and better. Use it there.

Your personal story is your unfair advantage. Your real mistakes, your specific numbers, your honest perspective on what worked and what didn’t.

This is what AI can’t copy and what makes you different.

Final Thoughts

AI is the most powerful writing tool ever created.

But a tool is only useful in the hands of someone who knows what they’re building.

The combination of AI efficiency and your human authenticity is what the best bloggers are doing.

Don’t replace yourself with AI, but improve with it.
