You keep seeing everyone else’s successful stories. And that makes your plans feel inadequate.

Just because you’re seeing someone else’s successful stories today, it doesn’t mean they started a month ago.
In five years, someone else may see you as you’re seeing them.

Most of the time, we are just overthinking because we don’t want to make the wrong decision.
But what most people don’t realize is that if you haven’t decided yet, you can’t have decided wrong.
Overthinking just makes you stay in one place of permanent uncertainty.

Like the fear of making the wrong decision, you can never fail if you don’t start. So that’s what people do.
They don’t start. Because when they do this, they can’t fail.

The more choices you have, the harder it is to start.

But I always say that most business models work, you just need to choose one and dedicate yourself to being an expert on it.

You keep waiting for the perfect conditions, such as a moment, a plan, or even a skill set, before taking action.
But the problem is that it will never come.
Not because you aren’t good, but because there’s always something to improve.
The best part about starting your business from zero is that you can fail all over again, and you’ll keep improving.

Most people still think that overthinking is harmless. That is just a mental habit and will pass.

I still struggle with this sometimes. I’m having problems with my consistency because of my blog results. I look at myself overthinking about what I wish to have.
But this will cost you everything. You start delaying your assignments, and you try to run from your routine.
But when the assignment’s day comes, you start feeling bad because you know deep down you should do what was planned to do.
So you try to rush everything.

Some windows close while you’re still thinking about everything.
There isn’t a right moment. Whenever you have excuses, there won’t be the right moment to start.
So create one. Start today.
The right moment to start something is almost always earlier than you think.

Every time you fail to do something you promised to do, you’re downgrading your confidence.
You start feeling bad about yourself because you couldn’t do what you’d planned to do.
And the longer you wait to start something, the harder starting feels.
If you don’t act today, you’re tempted not to act again tomorrow.

Sometimes overthinking is obvious, and it’s right under your nose.
But sometimes it disguises itself as productivity.
Here are some signs that you’re stuck in overthinking:
You’ve been planning to start for months, but you never do. Your plan is getting better every day, but your actions are still the same.
You change your plan every time you learn something new. You discovered a new business model, so you decided to try it out.
You feel busy but make no progress. You keep thinking about new ideas, concepts, or research, but nothing is actually moving you closer to your goals.
You ask for advice but never implement it. You ask people you admire online, and they actually give you tips.
But in the end, you decide not to use their tips because it never seems enough to actually take the first step.

1. Set a Decision Deadline
Give yourself a specific time to think about your plan.
I recommend that you think about it for 24 to 48 hours, and when the time is up, you commit to it without a doubt.
Don’t wait until you feel ready to start, it will only slow you down.
Setting a deadline creates urgency, forcing decisions.
Without this, you’ll keep in the same loop forever without taking action.
2. Lower the Bar for Starting
Don’t try to be perfect.
You don’t need a perfect plan. You just need one thing.
To take action.
Think about what’s the smallest assignment you could do today towards your goals?
It could be defining your business logo or name, registering a domain, or even writing the first social media post.
By starting small, you’re breaking the paralysis of needing to start big to succeed.
3. Separate Thinking Time From Doing Time
When I started this blog, I spent more than 2 hours checking for keywords on different software, websites, and even social media.
I kept looking for keywords and reading what people said about it.
But I didn’t need that much time to research.
I could do it in less than an hour, but I wanted it to be perfect.
In the end, I could’ve used that time to improve my blog, social media, and even posts.
4. Accept That You'll Figure Things Out Along the Way
No one is an expert on something they just started.
No matter how many videos, guides, or courses they watched.
You can learn a lot by watching, but you can learn even more by doing.
When I started, I didn’t even know how to use WordPress without using YouTube for everything.
Today, I can finally say I don’t use YouTube for anything, at least for my website design.
If I had waited until I actually felt ready, I wouldn’t have started.
5. Focus on the Next Step, Not the Entire Plan
Overthinking usually happens because you keep thinking about the bigger picture.
But instead of focusing on it, focus on the small steps you need to take to reach that goal.
Focus on today, not in 5 years.
Otherwise, your plan will always feel overwhelming, and thoughts of quitting will always come to your mind.
6. Done Is Better Than Perfect
When starting, we want everything to be perfect.
But you must realize that a 70% published work beats an unpublished work that’s 100% perfect.
A perfect business plan that never launches is always worse than a launched business plan.
You need action to create momentum, and your goal shouldn’t be perfectionism, but to get things done and improve day after day.
The Difference Between Thinking and Planning
You could be thinking and not overthinking. And that includes planning.
Planning is thinking with an actual purpose and end point. You think, then decide, and finally, act.
You have a planned date attached to it.
On the other hand, overthinking is thinking without a destination.
You keep thinking forever without taking any action.
No commitment, no date.
But it’s simple to tell the difference:
Does your plan have a start date? If your answer is no, you’re overthinking, not planning.

You’ll never feel completely ready.
No one does.
And the perfect moment doesn’t exist.
But what exists is today, and the action you choose to take… or not take.
