What Nobody Tells You About Starting From Zero
Everybody talks about success, but nobody talks about what it actually looks like before it arrives.
Starting from zero is the part no one shows you, all the silence, doubt, moments that made you almost quit.
Here’s what nobody tells you about starting from zero.
What Starting From Zero Really Means
Zero is more than just a number.
It’s a feeling. It’s the feeling of nobody knowing you.
You won’t receive validation from anybody, no comments, no emails, not even a single reaction.
You’re just betting on yourself without any safety net and no proof that something is going to work.
Most people don’t start just because starting from zero seems too far from their goals.
They look at the distance between their dreams and their current position and decide that the effort isn’t worth it.
People who succeed from zero aren’t special. They were just willing to sit with that discomfort.
And that’s because their dreams and mindset are bigger than just not doing anything.
Nobody Tells You How Quiet It Is
The hardest thing about starting from zero isn’t the work.
It’s the silence.
You keep working day after day, but you don’t get anything in return.
Whether you’re starting a business or even a project, you won’t receive any feedback from anyone.
And I know what goes through your mind.
It looks like you’re failing.
But that’s not failure. That’s the start.
Every successful blog, business, and brand, when they started, felt the same thing you’re feeling.
They didn’t get feedback from anyone, and when that happens, it’s very hard to improve.
You don’t know what’s working and what should be improved.
But the difference between those who actually succeed and those who disappear is very simple.
They had the patience and kept going until all the silence disappeared.
The Gap Between Effort and Results
When you’re starting, you can perfectly see the gap between your goals and your current position.
You look at people online making money, achieving what you want to achieve, and then you look at yourself.
You haven’t achieved anything yet, even though you’re working as hard as you can.
That gap feels impossible. I’ve been through that. But here’s what nobody tells you.
That same gap shrinks every time you take action.
Every post, video, image, and piece of content helps that distance become closer and closer.
Not tremendously, but it’s still there.
The gap is closing, no matter how small it might seem.
The problem is that most people just look at the full distance between zero and quit before realizing how much they’ve progressed.
Building a business?
I share real results, mistakes, and what’s actually working each week.
Why Starting From Zero Can Actually Be an Advantage
This may seem like something anyone who’s trying to convince you would say.
But in reality, starting from zero can actually be your greatest advantage.
When you’re starting, you can do anything you want without consequences.
You can try different things, from writing styles, topics, and even approaches.
Even if something doesn’t seem to work, you can always change it because no one is there yet.
But when you already have a reputation, you’ll always have a fear of judgment.
And that’s because everything you do will be seen.
Those who built something are constantly afraid of losing it, even if they deny it.
But you… You don’t have anything to lose.
And when you learn how to build something from zero, you can always do it again.
Chase the skill that makes money, not money itself.
The Hardest Part: People Around You

The hardest part of starting with nothing is those around you.
They keep seeing you stop hanging out with them just to focus on your business or project.
But you don’t have any results yet. They only see the risk, lack of results, and all the work you’re putting in.
Some will tell you to quit, because it’s not realistic. Others will suggest safer paths.
And that’s why I didn’t tell anyone about this blog. I don’t need to explain myself to anyone, and no one else should know what I’m working on.
That relieves the pressure on me from people who keep asking how my business is going.
And this always happened when I was younger and decided to try a new business model.
I always told my parents, and they always said the same thing – “focus on school, get a degree, find a stable job.”
They just couldn’t see what I could.
But building something alone will always feel like this, lonely.
There’s no way around that.
And those who are close to you are the ones who don’t share your vision, just because they didn’t have it.
But you just need one person. It will help you when you’re not feeling like working and want to quit.
It could be a friend, someone from an online community, or even a forum.
Their opinions don’t mean anything, and clearly don’t determine your journey’s outcome.
But having someone who gets you and shares the same vision makes the journey much easier.
Nobody Tells You How Long Success Takes
There’s no specific time for success.
But if you have a number in your head, double it or even triple it.
Everything worth building takes time to actually work. It won’t be 3 months or even a year.
Not because something is wrong, but because that’s how it works.
These early stages feel so unrewarding because of the compound effect of building a business or launching a blog.
In my first month, I had zero clicks and fewer than 100 impressions. At the beginning of my fourth month, I was looking at 1,000 impressions per week.
It may seem small, but to me it was the greatest feeling I could ever feel.
My progress was real, and I was actually achieving something.
Most people quit before things start to actually work, but the problem was that they had the wrong timeline.
Motivation Will Eventually Disappear
You’ll start with all the motivation you could ask for. But as time passes, suddenly it goes away.
You are excited about the possibility of achieving your dreams. You start putting the work into all of your assignments.
In your first week, you decide to dedicate yourself to it without doing anything else.
But after 3 weeks, you don’t have motivation.
The results aren’t what you expected, and progress doesn’t seem visible.
And that’s when most people decide to push themselves from their dreams.
But in reality, you need consistency and a simple routine.
You show up on Wednesday and Sunday because of what it means, not because of how you feel.
The decision was already made on your routine, removing any other choice.
There was only one time that I failed to stick with my routine, but the next day I delayed everything planned and did what I didn’t do the day before.
Even if I needed to work one or two more hours.
What Actually Gets You Out of Zero

After four months of blogging, with almost 40 posts, this is what actually keeps you going:
Hunger for Winning
More than anything else from this list, this is what actually keeps me from quitting.
My desire to win, to prove myself that I’m capable of anything I dreamt.
Learn how to set goals. Why does it matter to you? Why do you want it to work?
A Routine That Carries You Even Without Motivation
Schedule your work for when you don’t have enough time. Same days, same time.
Remove the decision of whether to show up and replace it with the habit of showing up.
When it’s incorporated in your routine, it’s the same as drinking water, you just do.
Data Over Feelings
Instead of focusing on the thoughts of not working, look at your results.
Sometimes I was overwhelmed because it didn’t seem like it was working.
But everything was improving, profile views, likes, saves, impressions, and clicks.
Just because you feel like it’s not working, it doesn’t actually mean that.
Final Thoughts
Zero is not a starting point to be ashamed of.
Everyone you admire online started there, they didn’t have likes, views, or money.
But as years passed, their progress increased.
Just because you’ve seen them today doesn’t mean they started a month ago.
Most of the time, they’ve been working for years just for you to see them today.
The difference between them and you is that they didn’t quit.
They kept going until results started to compound and became bigger day after day.
